Richard L. McDonald
After graduating from Pine River High School, Dr. McDonald served in the U.S. Navy for twelve years. He joined the practice in 1999, having graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Michigan Optometric Association, and a 2000 graduate of the Cadillac Leadership program. After being away from the area for nearly twenty years, Dr. McDonald, his wife Sherry (also a PRHS graduate), and their three children are happy to be “back home.” His family is very involved in the youth sports program in the LeRoy area.
Amanda L. Johnston
After graduating from Azle High School in Texas, Dr. Johnston attended Baylor University and graduated in August 2001. After college, she met and married her husband Jason, a Michigan State University graduate from St. Joseph, Michigan. Dr. Johnston graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry in May 2007. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Michigan Optometric Association and is a 2008 graduate of the Cadillac Leadership Program. Dr. Johnston, Jason, and their three sons are excited to call Cadillac home.
Dr. Amanda L. Johnston, O.D. has been practicing here at Advanced Optometry since August 2007. She has been working in the Optometry field for over 20 years. She performs Comprehensive Eye Exams and Contact Lens Fittings. Dr. Johnston is married to husband Jason, and has three boys, Vance, Reed, and Brandt. Her hobbies include reading, golfing, tennis, and family time. Dr. Johnston feels that eyesight is precious and she feels privileged to help enhance and preserve the eyesight of so many people. Her favorite feeling is encouraging other people, which motivates her to work her hardest to be a positive influence.
Angie
Angie has been here at Advanced Optometry since January 2015 as an Optician. She has been in the Optician field since 1980. Her job duties include adjusting eyewear, picking out the best frame and lenses for patients needs, and dispensing eyewear. Angie loves using her knowledge to help patients with their glasses and adjustments. Her number one goal is to make our patients happy. Angie enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with her husband and her 2 wonderful daughters.
Ashley
Ashley has been with us at Advanced Optometry since November 2017 as a Scribe. Her job duties include refractometry, pre-testing patients, and collecting patient data. Ashley is a Certified Paraoptometric and she is also ABO certified. A CPO is a person who has attained national recognition via certification by demonstrating an understanding of the concepts used in optometric care. The American Board of Opticianry (ABO) is nationally recognized as the standard for optician competence assessment. Ashley loves to spend time with her husband and their 2 fur babies. She also enjoys playing softball and spending time with her niece.
Angelia
Angelia has been here at Advanced Optometry since April 2014 as an Optician. Her job duties include teaching patients how to properly insert and remove contact lenses, ordering contact lenses, and adjusting eyewear. Her favorite part about her career is working with her awesome co-workers. Angelia loves shopping, going to the movies, watching almost any sport, and spending time with her daughter.
Erin
Erin has been with us at Advanced Optometry since October 2016 as a Scribe Manager. Her job duties include refractometry, collecting patient data, special testing, and technician scheduling. Erin is CPOT certified. A Certified Paraoptometric Technician is a person who has attained national recognition via certification by demonstrating the ability to understand, apply, and interrelate the concepts used in optometric care. Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog.
Pat
Pat has worked here at Advanced Optometry since December 2014 as an Optician. Her job duties include ordering optical jobs, dispensing and adjusting glasses, and helping patients pick out new eyewear. Pat is a Certified Paraoptometric. A CPO is a person who has attained national recognition via certification by demonstrating an understanding of the concepts used in optometric care. Pat is married with 6 kids (4 children and 2 stepchildren) and 10 grandchildren. She enjoys making miniatures and water aerobics, she is also water fitness certified.
Amanda
Amanda has been with us at Advanced Optometry as an Optician since September 2016. Her duties consist of dispensing and adjusting glasses, performing special testing for patients, and repairing eyewear. She loves to help patients select the best glasses for their lifestyle. Amanda enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and her fur babies.
Amber
Amber has worked here at Advanced Optometry since April 2018 as a Scribe. Her job duties include pre-testing patients, refractometry, and collecting patient data. Amber is a Certified Paraoptometric. A CPO is a person who has attained national recognition via certification by demonstrating an understanding of the concepts used in optometric care. Her favorite part about her job is making people smile. Amber enjoys camping and hunting. She also loves to spend time with her family.”
Sarah
Sarah has worked at Advanced Optometry since March 2019 as a Receptionist in our Business Office. Her duties include reception, customer service and handing out smiles. Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and her 2 cats.”
Taylor W.
Taylor has been with us at Advanced Optometry since May 2019 as a Scribe. Her job duties include pre-testing patients, refractometry, and collecting patient data. Taylor is a Certified Paraoptometric. A CPO is a person who has attained national recognition via certification by demonstrating an understanding of the concepts used in optometric care. Her favorite part of her job is helping patients see the best they can see and working with her coworkers. Taylor likes to play softball and spend time with her friends and family in her free time.
Kate
Kate has worked at Advanced Optometry since September 2019 as a Business Office Manager. She enjoys and takes pride in helping our patients every day. Some of her hobbies include camping, hiking and other outdoor activities.
